March – Spring Equinox – Sunshine – New Beginnings

I love March! I see March 1st as a turning point…I know it’s not quite Spring yet but it’s just around the corner…I can feel it coming. March is a time when the darkness of winter turns to the light and newness of Spring; a time to brush off the cobwebs and come out of hibernation; a time to put away the boots and bring out the sandals; a time of rebirth...how does March feel for you?

I had hoped to get this blog post up on the sunny beautiful day we had on March 1st. I wanted it to share with you my feelings of excitement for new beginnings on that day. Instead, I am writing this today on a not so sunny, cool windy, feeling more like winter kind of day. I think my excitement for Spring must have been shared by many because the store was so busy on March 1st that writing a blog post got moved down on the list of priorities. I digress, here I am still basking in the lingering feeling of March 1st so I will share with you some of what Spring will bring at Branching Out.

Here I am two months in to my adventure with Branching Out and I am overwhelmed thinking about the impact Branching Out has had on my life. Before starting this journey, I had no idea what it would feel like to wake up in the morning exited to go to work. I had no idea the sense of accomplishment I would feel by having something of my own and owning it! I had no idea how many wonderful people would come into my life just by being here every day, sharing my passions with others. I had no idea how supportive my family would be as I learn the ins and outs of being an entrepreneur and for all of these things, I am truly thankful.

I am excited to share with you some changes that will be springing up around Branching Out...

As many of you who have visited the store already know, Branching Out Natural Parenting and Living is getting a facelift. Stay tuned for our new name and branding being announced later this month.

You have also seen a shift in the merchandise in the store. We want to appeal to a greater audience so the new Branching Out will focus more on healthy living and less on baby items. You’ll still see lots of your old favorites but each week there are new items coming into the store. I try to share these new items on my facebook page so people know what they can find in the store.

You asked, we listened…we have extended our hours for spring! Starting March 22nd, we will be open until 7pm on Thursday evenings to accommodate customers who work week days.

We will be holding various events throughout the year at Branching Out as well. The first one being a Spring Equinox celebration on March 21st so save the date for this one. More details to be announced.

And for the most exciting change, we will be opening a small tea room here at Branching Out! You will be able to choose from various loose leaf teas or blend your own with bulk dried teas, herbs and fruits. We’ll have a few healthy snacks to enjoy with your tea as well.
